<br />Meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro-tem Ruff in the absence
<br />of Mayor Sharp. The following Aldermen were present: C.?,~. Agee,
<br />F.R. Boyle, J.J. Roark, Fred R. Ruff.

<br />Int. on Motion by Boyle, second by Agee, that the Mayor and City Secretary
<br />''t?B note be authorized to pay the interest to due date on the City~s note to
<br />
<br />Renevral the First Nat!1 Bank of La Porte, in the amount of X500.00, due Aug.
<br /> 9,1939, and that the note be renewed for 90 days.
<br /> Carried.
<br />Varrants Motion by Ages, second by Boyle, that warrants in the total amount of
<br />ratified X17.25 be ratified, as follows No• 2896, Geo.H. Sharp,~3.75, No.2897
<br /> E.P. Allen,~7.50, No. 2898, Jasper Christy,~6.00
<br /> Carried.
<br />1!iarrant ~~otion by Roark, second by Agee, that the City secretary be instructed
<br />cancelled to cancell warrant No. 2890, in the amount of X35.00, drawn in favor
<br /> of the La Porte Volunteer Fire Dept. since it was not used.

<br />Adjust taxes The City Secretary presented a letter from E.A. Kelly, .Atty. Cotton
<br /> Exchange B1dg.,Houston,Texas asking for an adjustment of taxes on
<br /> Lot 5, Block 51, Sylvan Beach, the statement submitted by the Tax

<br />`elq.Tax The Delinquent Tax Roll for the year 1938 was presented by the City
<br />Roll Secretary and Tax Collector and was examined by the Council.
<br /> Ald. Agee offered a motion, second by Roark, that the 1938 Delinquent
<br /> Tax Poll as of June 30,1939 in the amount of ~8,515.A2 be approved.
<br />Carried.
<br />There being no further business to come before the meeting, on motion
