Peace RrTOtion by Agee, second by Boyle, that Special Officers Connnissions Officers be given by the ?da.yor to Arthur Long, H.~ld. Dahse and Joe ?doore to act as peace officers at Sylvan Beach Park, without compensation. Carried. Extending Ordinance ado. 269, being an 9rdinance providing for extension of Sewer City Sewer Lines, providing for the payment of cost of such ex- tension by the City and the Applicants anJ. declaring an emergency, was read. Letter ~.Zotion by Ruff, second by Agee, that the City Attorney ~e instruct- School ed to write a letter to the Architect and Contractor of the School Permits Gymnasium and Elementary Buildings and to the School Board of the La Porte Independent School district advising them that they must furn~sh and place on file at the City Hall, the plans and specifica- tions for the Gymnasium and ~'lementary Buildings and must take out 1~uilding,Electrical, Sewer and Plumbing Permits for these buildingsi mot later than Thursday noon, Tray 26,1938. Carried, sire Hose alderman Boyle reported that the Fire Hose recently purchased from the Eureka FirQ Hose Division had arrived, been insgected, accepted and placed on the fire ~triacks in good order. A~lotion by Ruff, second by Agee, that the City Plumbing and Sewer In- '~• Sewer peetor be instructed not to make any tap to the City Sewer Lines or approve any sewer installation until the ~~ouse plumbing has been roughed in. _._ Carried. Inspector City Engineor L.L. Price appeared before the Council and repoz~ted Enforce that in two instances recently brought to his attention in the in- Ord. stallation of plumbing and sewer connection the City Ordinance had not been complied with. The Council instructed Price to enforce the Sewer and Plumbing Ordinance, Eq. Board Ordinance No. 270 was read, being an Ordinance providing that the City 1938 Council shall act as the Board of equalization for the year 1938, fix- ing the times of the meetings of such Board, providing that the City Secretary shall act as Secretary of such Hoard and declaring an emer- gency. :.lotion by Ruff, second by Agee, that Ordinance No. 270 be passed as read.
