• • <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1642 <br />Page 2 <br />THENCE, North 02°24'31" West, 1442.29 feet along a line common <br />to said 60.792 acre tract and said East right-of-way line of <br />Big Island Slough to a Copperweld (C.W.) rod stamped 2829 found <br />for the most southerly Northwest corner of said 60.792 acre <br />tract and also being an angle point of said East right-of-way <br />line; <br />THENCE, North 34°59'38" West, 40.27 feet continuing along said <br />common line to a 5/8-inch iron rod found for the most northerly <br />Northwest corner of said 60.792 acre tract; <br />THENCE, Northerly along the East right-of-way line of Big <br />Island Slough (230.00 feet wide) as recorded in Volume 4860, <br />Page 268 of the Harris County Deed Records (H.C.D.R.) to its <br />point of intersection with the South right-of-way line of <br />Fairmont Parkway. <br />THENCE, Easterly with the South right-of-way line of Fairmont <br />Parkway to the POINT OF BEGINNING. <br />Section 2. On May 1, 1989, the City Council of the City of La <br />Porte passed and approved Ordinance No. 1641, an Ordinance directing <br />the City's Department of Community Development to prepare a Service <br />Plan that provides for the extension of municipal services to the <br />area comprising the Annexation Area. The proposed Service Plan <br />shall be made available for public inspection and explained to the <br />inhabitants of the area to be annexed at the public hearings. <br />Section _3. The City Council of the City of La Porte hereby <br />calls two (2) public hearings at which all interested persons shall <br />have an opportunity to be heard upon such proposal to annex the <br />territory described above, which two (2) public hearings shall be <br />held as follows, to-wit: <br />(1) in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 604 W. Fairmont <br />Parkway, La Porte, Texas, at 6:00 P.M., on May 22, 1989; <br />and <br />(2) in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 604 W. Fairmont <br />Parkway, La Porte, Texas, at 6:00 P.M., on May 30, 1989. <br />Section 4. The annexation proceeding of which notice of <br />intention to annex is given by this Ordinance shall be instituted <br />not less than twenty (20) days nor more than forty (40) days <br />subsequent to such public hearings. <br />Section 5. The City Secretary of the City of La Porte is <br />hereby directed to cause notice of such public hearings to be given <br />by publication of this Ordinance in the Bayshore Sun, a newspaper <br />having general circulation in the City of La Porte and in the <br />
