The Mayor announced the Employee of the Quarter to be <br />Lorie Tagert of the Finance Department. Ms. Tagert is <br />employee of the quarter for December, January and February, <br />1987-88. Finance Director Jeff Litchfield and Finance <br />Supervisor Cynthia Alexander presented a plaque to Ms. <br />Tagert. <br /> <br />5. Mr. Jerry Dubrof, Independent Tank Cleaning Services, Inc., <br />presented to the City, the key to a 1988 15-passenger van, <br />to show his appreciation to the City for its efforts in <br />implementing a clean up of a tank rupture and spill at his <br />business. <br /> <br />In return, Mr. Dubrof was presented a plaque of <br />appreciation for his gift to the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Bob Jordan, Jordan Industries, addressed Council <br />regarding the relocation of his business and his efforts to <br />pursue a satisfactory location. <br /> <br />Mr. David Williams, Jordan Industries, addressed Council <br />regarding the way the City is handling the proposed <br />relocation of Jordan Industries, and their willingness to <br />work with the City. <br /> <br />6. Council considered an ordinance establishing an Airport <br />Advisory Board. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilperson Matuszak to take this item <br />to executive session. There was no objection. <br /> <br />7. Council considered a resolution supporting local businesses <br />whenever feasible, appropriate and lawful. <br /> <br />The Mayor called David Brady, President of La Porte <br />Bayshore Chamber of Commerce, and John Paul Zemanek, <br />Executive Director to come forward. The Mayor then read <br />Resolution 88-6, A Resolution of the City Council of the <br />City of La Porte, Texas, Supporting Local Businesses <br />Whenever Feasible, Appropriate and Lawful. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Porter to approve <br />Resolution 88-6. Second by Councilperson Skelton. The <br />motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />
