<br />Medting was called to order by Mayor Ruff with the following
<br />Aldermen and City Officials present: Ald: J. N. John®on, J. J•
<br />Roark, T. F. Smith, City Atty, giibler, City Secy. Christensen.
<br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
<br />Resignation r.~otion by Johnson, second by Roark, that the-City Council accept
<br />the resignation of Mrs. F. R. Roberts, as Assistant Secretary,
<br />effective October 22, 191;.3.
<br />Carried.
<br />Corporation The Mayor presented the Corporation Court Reporter from September 1,
<br />Court Re- 1943 to September 30, 1943.
<br />port Motion by Johnson, second by Smith, that the Corporation Court Re-
<br />ports as presented by the Mayor be accepted and R4ayor's Fees paid.

<br />1'ax Suit Motion by Johnson, second by Smith, that the matter of filing tax
<br /> suit on Block 32 be turned over to the City Attorney for advise-
<br /> ment.

<br />Resolution Motion by Johnson, second by Smith, that tYie folllowing resolution
<br /> be adopted:
<br /> V~REAS, the City of La Porte Has heretofore pgssed and
<br /> approved Ordinance No. 261, regulating traffic upon the public
<br /> streets of the City of La Porte; and
<br /> lV!'.ERE~1;', such Ordinance provides that the City Council
<br /> shall, by resolution, determine and designate~:the character of all
<br /> official traffic signs and signals and shall designate the location
<br /> where the same shall be installed;
<br /> P101'V, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUPTCIL THAT:
<br /> the standing or parking of any vehicle is prohibited within the
<br /> space on the East side of South Second Street from the intersec-
<br /> tion of 'West Main Street and South Second Street, a distance of
<br /> Thirty Tv~ro (32) feet South of such intersection, and that such
<br /> space be reserved for officers, and further that the Police
<br />` Committee is hereby authorized and instructed to proper3~r mark and
<br />` sign said place as a "no parking zone";
<br /> Traffic moving over and along South A Street, from either
<br /> direction, shall stop before enterin the ne r t c osswalk at the
