The meeting was called to order by Mayor Cline at 7:00 P.M. <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Virginia Cline, <br />Councilpersons Deotis Gay, B. Don Skelton, Linda Westergren, <br />Norman Malone, Ed Matuszak, Kevin Graves, Lindsay Pfeiffer <br />Members of City Council Absent: Councilperson John Longley <br />Members of City Staff Present: City Manager Jack Owen, <br />City Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Cherie Black, <br />Director of Administrative Services Bob Herrera <br />Others Present: Decker McKim; Lou Lawler; John Rosier, <br />Process Products; Arlene Arends, Bayshore Sun-Broadcaster; <br />Linnea Schlobohm, Baytown Sun; 5 citizens <br />• 2. The invocation was given by City Attorney Knox Askins. <br />3. Council considered approving the minutes of the called regular <br />meeting held May 23, 1984. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Westergren to approve the <br />minutes of the May 23 meeting as presented. Second by Council- <br />person Gay. The motion carried, 7 ayes, 0 nays, 1 abstain. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Gay, Skelton, Westergren, Matuszak, <br />Graves, Pfeiffer and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Councilperson Malone, due to his not being present <br />at the May 23 meeting <br />4. Council considered the request of Decker McKim to rezone <br />La Porte outlots 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22. <br />Mayor Cline stated that this item had been previously tabled <br />at the request of Councilperson Westergren and that Council- <br />person Westergren had asked to put the item back on the agenda. <br />Mayor Cline called Council's attention to the memo from the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission recommending that only Outlots <br />19, 20, 21 and 22 be rezoned from Residential to Commercial, <br />• and leaving :Outl:ot 18 zoned Residential. <br /> <br />
