366 <br />MINUTES <br />LA PORTE CITY COIINCIL <br />AFRI L 23, 1946, 8:00 P. ~!. <br />~~ Postponed from April 22, 1946 <br />Meeting was called to order by Mayor Ruff with the following <br />Aldermen and City officials present: Ald. J. N. Johnson, <br />Geo. F. Norris, T. F. Smith,, J. L. vunham, City Seereta.ry <br />sharp. <br /> Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />Bonds Motion by Johnson, second by Smith, that the bill in the <br /> amount of X10.00 for Bonds for the Mayor and City Marshal <br /> be paid. <br /> Carried. <br />Street Shell- Motion by Dunham, second by Johnson, that the City pay 1/`3 <br />ing and interseotion and property owner 2~j for ahelling street <br /> for S. C. Cook~p being Block 215 bounded by South B ~c South <br /> C Streets and South 9th and South 10th Avenues, and 125 °t. <br /> on South B in front of Block 216. <br /> Carried. <br />Street Shell- Motion by Smith, second by Norris, that the City pay 1/`~ as <br />ing per City Ordinance on shelling of 2 of South D Street between <br /> <br />,~ San Jacinto and 5th Avenue and I25 ft. of 5th Avenue in front of <br />Block 242 and a <br />roxi <br />t <br />l <br />00 ft <br />B <br /> <br />. pp <br />ma <br />e <br />y 3 <br />. in front of <br />lock 22~ on <br /> 5th Avenue which matter was turned ove <br />, r to the-ldayor to make <br />' <br /> An estimate and report at next Council meeting. <br /> _.~ K. <br />Raise-Asst. Motion by Smith, second by Johnson, that the salary of the <br />Secy. Assistant City Secretary be raised from 50~t per hour to 75¢ <br /> per hour, retroactive to April l6, 1946. <br /> Carried. <br />Caution The street & Alley Committee was appointed by the Mayor to <br />Light meet with the School Board in regard to placing of Caution <br /> light at School. <br />Incinerator Mr. M. S. Lehman met with the Council in regard to an Incinerator <br /> and the City Engineer wns instructed to draw up plans and speci- <br /> fications on sAme. <br />'arrant ~'otion by Johnson, seoond by Smith, that ~-arrant No. 8313, in <br />% <br />Ratified ~ <br />the amount of 1,337.50, in favor of Gerald ll~ora, be ratified. <br /> ~iarriid. <br />Sewer Motion by Johnson, second by Smith, that K.
