371 <br />Houston Natural Gas Corporation for annual payment in accordance <br />with Section II of the Franchise. Motion by Roark, second by <br />Smith, that the City accept the oheok from the Houston Natural <br />Gas Corporation. <br />Carried. <br />Audit Report The Secretary presented the audit report for_the fisoal yeor <br />do Bill ending March 31, 194b, together with b~.ll from .Tapp do Crosby <br />for X175.00. Motion by Roark,seoond by Johnson, that this <br />bill be allowed and ordered paid. <br />Carried. <br />Sewer Charge The Mayor brought the matter of a sewer charge before the Council, <br />which matter is to be discussed at a special meeting to be called <br />at a~ later date. <br />Letter on The Mayor presented a letter Prom James A. Benson in regard to <br />exterminating treating and exterminating of City Hall Building at an estimated <br />cost of $_187.50. Motion, by Johnson, second by Smith, that the <br />City ask for bids on exterminating of building and the Secretary <br />be instructed to notify Mr. Benson that bids are being asked <br />for and, that he be requested to su9mnit another bid. <br />Carried. <br />Conneotion Fee Motion by Roark, seoond by Smith, that Mrs. ~. H. Irvin's water <br />pro-rated connection fee on the Bayridge Line in the amount of X500.00 <br />be pro-rated equally to the original owners as per the.Cit~~s <br />contract with these owners. <br />• Carried. <br />Letter head Motion by Johnson, sFOOnd by Smith, that the City Secretary be <br />authorized to order a sufficient supply of letter head. <br />Carried. <br />Financial lotion by Johnson, seoond by Dunham, that that the City's financial <br />atatement statement ~.s of March 31, 191.E.fi be published in the La Porte Reporter, <br />and that A. H. Lambert, publisher, be requested to submit a sohedule <br />of his .rates to the 8ouncil. <br />Carried. <br />Circl at The Mayor appointed the Council to meet with the State Highway <br />Five ~oints Departm~ant in regard to the circle at Five Points. <br />Bible Class, Motion by Dunham, seoond by Roark, that the City allow any Church <br />to hold_Bible Class in the City Hall when building is not in use. <br />Carried. <br />Remove cars Lotion by Roark, second by Smith, that the City Marshal notify the <br />ooeupants of 81Rir Garage and the McMillan Chevrolet Co. to remove <br />the oars from streets. <br />Carried, <br />Fire Marshal The Mayor appointed C. J. Wilson as Fire Marshal for the ensuing <br />term. <br />Raise Fire Chief Wilson arpeared before the Council in regard to a raise, <br />which matter was left to the Council for investigation. <br />Cancelled Bonds The pity Secretary presented four City of La Porte Refunding Bonds <br />
