Pfeiffer, <br />wdth the follow3rig members and city officials presents Commissioners Jas. S. Crate, <br />Jr., and Wm. P. Janes, Wm. Maness, represezrting Wyatt C. Hedrick, City Engineer, <br />Raleigh Erwin, Supt. of Publio Works, Carl C. Patrick, City Attorney, and J. E. <br />Muldoon, City C]e rk. <br />mss. C. W. Holt appeared before the Commission and requested better drainage near <br />her home an Brownell Avenue. The Cammrissiaa instructed Raleigh Erwin, Supt. of <br />Rrblic Worts, to remedy condition, if possible. <br />The Mayor instructed the City Clerk to open the bids an $50,000.00 Water and <br />Sewer Revenue BondB. <br />Motion by Crate, sscorai by Jones, to accept bid submitted by Ernest L. Brown, Jr. <br />The bid was as follows s ~ <br />Honorable Mayor and City Commission <br />City of La Porte, Tease . <br />For your $50,000 Water and Scorer Revenue Bands I bid you par <br />and accrued inter®st to date of delivery plus a Dash premium <br />of $7l~6.00. <br />This bid is subject to delivery within !~5 days frame the date <br />of this bid and to the unqualified approving opiniaa~ of Measers. <br />Chapman and Cutler, Chicago, Ill• <br />Respectfully submiitted, <br />Signed - Ernest L. Brown, Jr. <br />Carried. <br />The Commission asked the City Attorney for an opinicar on the question could they <br />legally spend the $25,000.00 that was voted for constructing a garbage disposal <br />inoinerator, for equipment and arbor appurtenances to handl® garbage disposal, <br />ie, by burying it instead of burning. <br />The Attorney's answer was that $e had not found any asses on the matter, but <br />it was his opinion that if the Commission felt that burying the garbage was a <br />better and cheaper way of disposing of it, they should use their discretiaa and <br />do what they thought best for the people they represented. <br />Motion by Crate, second by Janes, that the meeting adjourn. <br />Carried. <br />Don C erk of he C -$. 3. p3ei~`fer, ~ yor o t e ' <br />of La Porte, Texas La Porte, Texas <br />
