J. Pfeiffer, <br />.. with the following members and city officials present: Commissioner ~'hn. P. Jones, <br />Carl C. Patrick, City Attorney, I7m. I~taness, representing ti'Fyatt C. Hedrick, City <br />En.gineer,_Raleigh Erwin, Supt. of Public ~~~orks, and J. E. 1:Iuldoan, City Clerk. <br />LIinutes of the last meeting vrere read and approved. <br />i:Ir. Knott and IVIr. VYillard Fisher appeared before the Commission and requested to <br />use a loud speaker on the streets of La Porte to advertise the "Come to the Baby <br />Fair" at ~Iebster, money derived from fair to be given to the Hedgecroft Polio <br />Hospital. The Commission unanimously gave their permission. <br />Commissioner Jas. S. Crate, Jr., came into the meeting at this time. <br />`l'he City Attorney was requested to draw a Resolution in behalf of the ].ate Buil- <br />ding and Plumbing Inspecta+r, James A. L4c Cauley, vrith a copy to his family. <br />After much discussion relative to the enlarging and extending the boundary limits <br />' of the City of La Porte, which vrere set out in Ordinance ATo. 387 and passed Septem- <br />ber 13th, 19l~.9, in accordance vrith Section 10 of the Home Rule Charter of the City <br />of La Porte, the rltayor instructed the City Clerk to read Ordinance PTo. 387 in full. <br />~_. Upon reading the Ordinance in full, Commissioner Jones made a motion, v.~.ich eras <br />seconded by Commissioner Crate, that Ordinance No. 387, being <br />AN OP.DIDTANCE ENLA3tGING AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIPiITS OF THE CITY <br />OF Lk PORTE, TEXAS, AI~TD AI~i~TEXII~TG ADDITIONAL ADJACENT TERRITORX' TO SAID <br />CITY, <br />be adopted on its second and final reading. <br />. Carried. <br />The Commission unanimously instructed the City Clerk to have published in the <br />city's official nevrspaper, Ordinance No. 392, which was passed cn its first read- <br />ing January 19th, 1950. <br />Carried . <br />T:Ir. I~laziess, representing 1Yyatt C. Hedrick, City Engineer, estimated it would cost <br />from ;300.00 to ~~.00.00 to prepare plans for curb and gutter and to shave drainage <br />_~ elevations from Main to E streets, and from 1st Street to 6th Street, South of Irain. <br />E, <br /> <br />~Y <br />
