<br />Regular meeting of the City Commission wAS called to order by Mayor H. J. Pfeiffer,
<br />Frith the following members and city officials presents Commissioners Jas. S. Crate,
<br />Jr., and tidm. P. Jones, P.a.leigh r^,rwin, Supt. of Public ,~Iorks, Carl C. Patrick, City
<br />Attorney, and J. E, P.f~ildoon, City Clerk.
<br />P~inutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
<br />A group of property owners composed of Geo. Sharp, Sr., 't~T. H. '~Jarren, Clyde Agee,
<br />P~~Irs. Ruth Fuqua, and P~.iss Besse Shannon appeared before the Commission in answer to
<br />their latter to discuss curb, gutter and paving along Second Street, between North
<br />A and South ~ Streets. The Commission informed them that upon the city engineer's
<br />estimate, this construction would post them X12.36 a running foot foi• reinforced
<br />concrete for a. L~0-f oat street, or ~g.93 for black top. 1'he City would pay for the
<br />intersections, engineer's fees and storm se~,e~er where needed.
<br />The committee took these figures under advisement, and informed the Commission they
<br />would report bask if interested.
<br />Mrs. Rosa Lee Brown appe:~red before the Commission in connection v,~ith sewer to
<br />eottagesshe was contamplatinl; building in Bayshore Park.

<br />~ the territory which he had talked to them about on April 27, 1950.
<br />the Commission instructed the City Attorney to crock into the matter anal see if they
<br />could legally do so.
<br />D.Zotion by Crate, second by Jones, to close the City office all day on Saturday, in-
<br />steAd of keeping open one-ha.]~' day, beginning July 1, 1950, for the months of July
<br />and August, a~ if it proved satisfactory to make it permanent.

<br />P~fotion by Jones, second by Crate, to ho]~i the regular Commission meetings on the
<br />~`~ first and third `Thursdays of each month, instead of each Thursday, conuneneing in
<br />the month of July, 1950.

<br />P~;Ir. Ernest L. Brovan, Jr., appeared before the Commission in connection with proposed
<br />issue of X150,000 of additional ti'~Taterworks and Sewer System Revenue Bonds. P.r. Brown
<br />. presented a c ontract vrhieh sets out services to bP performed by him in the proposed
<br />sale or issuance of X150,000 y'~aterworks and Sewer System Revenue Bonds. For, and
<br />in consideration of his sertriees, and in reimbursement of his expenses, the City
<br />agrees to pay him a push fee equivalent to one and one-half (l2jo) percent of the
<br />bonds issued, this fee to be paid on a prorate basis, and shall become due end pay-
<br />able as these bonds era issued, delivered and paid for.
