D. Burgin, City Fire <br />Marshall, in which hq requested to be relieved of his. duties as City Fire <br />Iyfarshall -gas of January 31,:..1:9.51. The letter .read as follaers: o <br />January 31, 1951 <br />Honor.a~ble I~da~yor & City Commission <br />City of La: Porte <br />La Porte, Texas <br />Gentlemen <br />I Wish to be relieved of ~ duties as City Fire Marshall, and hereby tender <br />my resignation to become effective as of this date, January 31, 1951. <br />The time required to handle the affairs of the City Fire Marshall .has become <br />too great for me to continue in my off time. As you know, I am in hearty <br />accord with your fast-moving, progressive administration, and I will continue <br />to support you in future projects for public improvement. <br />Iweuld be glad to serve and work with you in some other capacity ~rhich would <br />not take :all of my spare .ti me. <br />Respectfully yours, , <br />Signed M.
