Bertha Cook - Co-Chairman <br />Glen Sha.ffar - Grocers <br />Ytalt Baumba~ch - Hardvrare <br />B. L. Gafford - Notions <br />Fred Cary - Filling Stations <br />H. Qr. Cherry - Restaurants <br />Jeffs ~P. Hatchell - Seafoods <br />Alfred H. Norris - Lumber & Building Materials <br />Jim F. Mays - Appliances <br />Lotion by Burgin, seconfl by Jones, to transfer all duties in connection vrith the 0. <br />P, A, to this committee: <br />Carried. <br />The City Clerk read a litter from ~. rY, H. Baugh, Airport Manager, in connection <br />with agreement No. 1 Lease No. 9P-1a1.-2~.3-Eng. 1821 which Ra,3 handed to ham fcr his <br />opia3.on. ~. Bought s was of the opinion that it should be executed as prepared, <br />for the following reason: "The City ~ effect agreed r~.th the United States Govern- <br />ment that in case of a national eanergency that the property ei.tIier revert to the <br />lessor or an agreement to be reached betrrsen the two parties for the use thereof. <br />~Ife have already agreed far the use of the property by Te.~as Air National Guard and <br />this instrmaent only adds Air National Guard and the United States National Air- <br />force. "' <br />The Commission unanimously adopted and ordered the foLloaring Resolution written <br />into the minutes: <br />RESOLUTI~J <br />At ~. recessed meeting of the regalar Commissioners' Meeting of the City of. La Porte <br />held April 5, 1951, a resolution was introduced and unaaisnously"passed authorizing <br />the Mayor and City Clerk to execute Supplemental Agreeident No. 1 to Lease ~P-!.~].-2~.3- <br />eng 1821 to ch2nge Paragraph 2 of said original lease so as to read as follcmrs: <br />"To be used for the follovvis:g psiposes: <br />Air National Guard and/or U. S. Air Force <br />to install, operate a~ maintain a Radar <br />Aircraft Control and ~farning Squadron Unit, <br />and if used otherarise is to revert to the <br />owner,'t <br />be adopted as read. <br />Carried. <br />
