Muldoari. <br />Minutes of the last meetings were read and approved. <br />b4otion by Janes, second by Burgin, that Ordinance ~No• 1.11, .being <br />AN ORDINANCE FINDING AND DECTaA,RING A GRAVE PUBLIC <br />NECESSITY FOR EMERGENCY EXPENDITURES WHIGS COULD <br />NOT BY REASONABLE FORETHOUGHT AND INTENT ION HAVE BEEN <br />INCLUDED IN THE ORIGINAL BUDGET FOR THE CURRENT FISCAL <br />YEAR, AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF MONEY AND <br />CREATION OF A SPEC IAL LEGAL DEFENSE FUND, THE HARING <br />OF LOANS FOR SUCH PURPOSE, AUTHORIZING EXPENDITURES <br />TIlEREFROM, DIRECTING THE KEEPING OF RECORDS THEREOF, <br />THE FILING OF COPIES OF THIS AMENDMENT TO THE BUDGET <br />AS RDaUIRED BY LAW, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, <br /> <br />be adapted, approved and oa~dered entered into the minutes this 17th day of may, <br />1951. <br />Motion by Jones, second by Burgin, that Ordi~iance No. 1.12, being <br />_ AN ORDINANCE EMPLOYING E. A. KNIPP, ATTORNEY, TO REPRESENT <br />THE CITY OF LA PORTE IN SUIT CF STATE OF TEXAS, ET AL. VS. <br />CITY OF LA PCRTE, ET AL., NUMBER 391-299, IAT THE 80TH DIS- <br />TRICT COURT, FIXING HIS COMPENSATION, PROVIDING FOR PAYMCNT <br />THEREOF, AND PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF EXPENSES INCIDEN- <br />TAL T 0 SUCH LITIGATION, <br />Carried. <br />be adopted and ordered entered into the minutes this 17th day of May, 1951. <br />Carries. <br />Mr. gey Jobs on, Mrs. Lois Compton and b2rs. E. T. MacNamara appeared before the <br />Co~nission and requested the City to help than finance the Recreation Program <br />for the La Porte area. <br />The Commission informed them that their budget would not allow them to do so, but <br />they would give it every consideration in the new budget. <br /> <br />
