531 <br /> <br />Upon motion by Commissioner Jones, duly seconded by Commissioner Burgin, and <br />carried by a unanimous vote, the follororing Resolution was adopted:. <br />~ IT RESOLPED that the City of La Porte, Texas, tentatively approve this <br />date the budget submitted by the Mayor for t11e current fiscal year; that pub- <br />lication of notice of heaving on .said budget be made in °the official neorspaper <br />of the City of La Porte, Texas, on September 21st,~1951, and that said hearing <br />be held in accordance with such notice on September 28th, 1951, at 11:00 0' <br />clock A. M. at the City Hall, City of La Porte, Texas. <br />Carried. <br />The City Clerk informed the Commission that mss, Billie Minchen had requested <br />of him an adjustment of her taxes and penalties ,and as he was without auth- <br />ority to make such an adjustment and asked their pleasure. <br />This matter was referred to the City Attorney, The attorney advised them they <br />also were without authority to act. The# Egnaiiz#tion Board had met each year, <br />and. to waive the penalties they would have to vraive the penalties' for all <br />others in the city by Ordinance. <br />The Commission advised the City Clerk to write mss. Minchen and, advise her they <br />were without authority to adjust her taxes. <br />Motion by James, second by Burgin, that Ordinance No. ?~1.6, being <br />AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE RUNNING AT LARGE OF DOGS ON THE STREEPS, SIDE9~A.Lffi <br />Cfft PUBLIC C~OUNDS OF THE QTY OF LA PORTE, TEAS; AUTHCfftI2ING THE PRESCRIBI'rTG <br />A FEE OF ~1-.5U TO BE PAID TO THE CITY ~.
