Pfeiffer, <br />with the following members and city officials present: Cow—ussioner 11. D. Burgin, <br />and City Clerk J. E. TAuldoon. <br />I1i.nutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />11r. Baugh, Jno. S. Iriibler, and YU 1�7adsuorth appeased before the Commission and dis- <br />cussed the airport. They urged the City to use their efforts in bringing new air <br />lines and air freight into the local airport, and sug�,ested the City make an appoint- <br />ment 1rri.th It% F. J. Schnitzer, District Airport Engineer of the C. A. A., to find <br />out if the Federal Government would match or give the Airport any funds for improve- <br />ment s . <br />Mr. Baugh suggested the City float a Revenue Bond Issue for the City's part, the <br />amount to be floated to be kno= after discussion with the District Airport Engineer. <br />The City Clerk was requested to ;^trite I.Ir. F. J. Schnitzer, District Airport Engineer, <br />Austin, Texas, and male arrangements for a meeting as soon as possible. <br />11r. C. J. Lefferty of the Southwestern Pell Telephone Company requested the City to <br />Five his company a ten year contract, instead of five years which was recently given <br />them. <br />The matter was tabled for further discussion. <br />Ur. Jno. S. Kiibler appeared before the Cori ssion and requested the City to help <br />property amners in Block 211, San Jacinto Homes Addition, to correct their boundary <br />lines. <br />1lotion by Burgin, second by Pfeiffer, that the City deed four (4) feet of street <br />adjoining Block 241, San Ja into Homes, vrith the same restrictions and specifications <br />in deed to VT. ,7. Mc lallan gonstruction Company, providing that T.E. Bolding and <br />other property (nmers along,t'lds street adjust their boundaries accordingly. <br />Carried. <br />I:Zoti.on by Burgin, second by Pfeiffer, that the City of La Porte accept 11 additional <br />overhead street lights of 250 candle power, in accordance Frith agreement dated Jan- <br />uary 1, 1945, same being 11 of the original forty-five (45) lights per amended <br />agreement dated April 5th, 1951, and f ound in the Co mu ssioner I s I3inutes of Page <br />493, Volume 5, these eleven (11) lights to be installed as soon as practical, and to <br />be located at th6 f of l owing intersections: <br />1. <br />7Test Eleventh cc Ilain Streets <br />2. <br />South 10th and "A" Streets <br />3. <br />South 6th and "A" Streets <br />4. <br />North 4th & Polk("A") Streets <br />5. <br />North Broactvay & Polk ("A") Streets <br />6. <br />Broadway and I,Iain Streets <br />7. <br />San Ja cinto & "A" Streets <br />
