Upon <br />reading the ordinance i.n full, Commissioner Rigby made a motions which was <br />seconded by Commissioner llPhite, that Ordinance No. 1164, being <br />AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE ELECTION FOR QTY <br />OFFICIALS, HELD ON THE 27TH DAY OF APRIL A. D. 1954, IN THI-~ <br />CITY OF LA PQRTE, TEXAS, AND CAb'AOTSSICNING THE OFFICTAL~ ELECTED, <br />be adopted as read. <br />Carried. <br />The bond of Hareem D. Burgin as Mayor, and L. R. Rigby and Harold P. Pfeiffer <br />as Commissioners, executed by a Corporate Surety, were read and approved upon <br />motion laQr Rigb~•, second by ~ihite. <br />Carried. <br />Mercer D. Burgin L. R. Rigby and Harold P. Pfeiffer were administered the Oath <br />of Office by Edward J.Cade~City Attorney, and a Notary Public. <br />Rev. John C. Eichorn offered a prayer for the nearly elected admi.nistration~ seek- <br />ing Gmd.~s aid in making a°snaceesful administration during the ne~rt itwo years. <br />Before adjourning, Robert A. White ask that the new Commission discharge res- <br />ponsibilities taken ®n by them on which he serveel in its ~200~000.00 street <br />improvement program. He also complimented Burgin by stating that he was the <br />hardest working and m©st honest Mayor he had Wirer met. <br />There being no further business upon motion by Rigby, second by White, the <br />meeting adjourned. <br />Carried. <br />ATTEST: <br />.
