216 <br />• <br />Motion by Rigiry, second by Pfeiffer, to appoint Jno. S. Kiibler as Special <br />Counsel for the City of La Porte, to institute suit againtt J. ][.white & <br />Sons, for damages sustained by the city on account of the D~i3.lure of blower <br />at the Disposal Plant,, which xas installed under• contract with J. M. <br />Wh3.te & Sons and the City of La Porte, dated October i3~ 1951. <br />Carried. <br />Upon motion by Commissioner Rigby, duly seconded by Commissioner Pfeiffer, <br />and carried by unax~imous vote, it was ordered that the first Friday at <br />10:00 A. M. of each month, arxi the third Friday at l~:30 P. M. of each <br />m®nth, shall hereafter be the regular meeting times of the Cat y Comm- <br />ission of the City of La Porte. <br />The Mayor appointed L. R. Rigby as Mayor Pro-Tem, which was unanimously <br />approved by the Commission. <br />Mayor Burgin made the following appointments: Commissioner L. R. Rigby, <br />Street, Police and Garbage Departments; Commissioner H. P. Pfeiffer <br />Sewer, Pater and Fire Departments. These appointments were unanimously <br />approved by the Commission. <br />The Commission unanimously approved all those ®aployees present],y em- <br />ployed be re-employed at their present salary or wages. <br />The Commission instructed the City Clark t© have the Oath of Office <br />administered t® each. <br />A Surety Bond in the amount of X15,000.00, on J. E. Muldoon as Principal <br />wa.s unanimously appr®ved by the Commission. <br />A discussion was held ~m extending sewer mains to the annexed property <br />at Sylvan 'Beach addition. Nothing definite was decided. upon at this time, <br />and further discussion will be held on this matter at a future meeting. <br />A discussion was held on the purchase of a new garbage truck bei. This <br />matter was referred to Commissioner Rigby. <br />A discussion was held on the streets. <br />Motion by Pfeiffer second by Rigby' to run fire lines on 11th Street, <br />to Blocks 23 & 2~., La Porter upon assurance there would be 1la. houses <br />built in each of these blocks. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Rigby, second by Pf eiffer~ to appoint Dtir.
