M. <br />Regular meeting of the City ComIId.ssion was_ called to order by Mayor M.D. Hurgin, <br />with the following members and city officials present: Commi.ssior~ers L.R. <br />Rigby, and H. P. Pfeiffer, ~. A.Arthur, Supt, of Public Worms, and City Clerk <br />Frank G. Haber. <br />Also p¢~esent were Mrs. 'ri.A. Stabs, Sr. ~ Reporter, Mr. Guy Robertson, Mr. W. D. <br />and Mr. Jim Mayas. <br />Minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. <br />Motion by Rigby, second by Pfeiffer, that the following Resolution be passed: <br />RESOLUTION <br />11~HII~.EAS THE State Highway Commission of the State of Texas, on <br />September 20, 1955, passed Minute Order No. 38785, directing the State <br />Highway Eaigineer to proceed with location surveys arxi to flirnish local <br />authorities with Deeds fcr a minimum three hundred (300) foot right-of- <br />way locaton to be approved by the State Highway Engineer for the future <br />construction of a minimum fox' lane facility with controlled access on <br />State Hig~ray 1t~6 frown the three level interchange at the junction with <br />State Highway 225 North of La Porte to a point on present State Highwa~q <br />lli6 South of La Porte, a distance of approximately three ~ four miles <br />at a total estimated cost of Nine Hundred Fifty Thousand ($950,000.00) <br />Dollars on condition that the City of La Porte will declare the portion <br />lying within the corporate limits of La Ports a freeway in accordance <br />with the provisions of House Bill 1x51, 52nd Legislature, and will exe- <br />cute the Texas Highwatiy De pastmerrt~ s standard forms far construction <br />and mai~rtenamee of Highway projects inside corporate Cities and Towns, <br />and providing further that such Minute shall become operative upon <br />acceptance by Harris County and the City of La Porte within ninety <br />(90) days of the date thereof; <br />NO~t, THE~.E~tE, BE IT RESOLVED EY THE CITY COMMISSION OF TIC CITY <br />OF LA FORTE, TEXAS, that theCity of La Porte does hereby expressly <br />accept State Highs~ay Commission Minute Order No. 38785, passed on <br />September 20, 1955, and agree to all of the ter~ss, conditions and <br />provisions therein contained. <br />BE IT FURTHER RF.SOLVID that certified copies of this Resolut ion <br />be transmitted to the Texas Highway Department and the Commissioners <br />Court of Harris County, Texas. <br />AND I'I' IS SO ORDERED. <br />;!r <br />f <br />Carried. <br />
