<br />~ ~ ~3- <br />MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />LA PCk~TE CITY COIu1MISSI~T - DECEME3ER 6, 1957 <br />~.: 3o P.I1~. <br />Regular meeting of tine City Commission was called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem H. <br />P. Pfeiffer, with the following present : Commissioner L. R. Rigby, Special Coun- <br />sel John S. Kiibler, and City Clerk Frank G. Baker. <br />Also present were Jim Holly, Marvin Rodridguez, and Mr. O.S. Andrews, with the <br />Houston Lighting & Paxer Co, <br />P.2inutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br />A great deal of discussion was held on the new 50 year franchise to Houston <br />Lighting & P~rrer Company. Mare time was asked by the Commission, to study the <br />situati on. <br />Motion by Rigby, second by Pfeiffer, that X1000 Bond, due March i5~ 1958, on <br />1,'Paterworks & Sewer System Revenue Bondi Series 1948, be paid now, <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Rigby, second by Pfeiffer, that Seascouts be allowed to hold a turkey <br />shoot, under the supervision of the Police Department. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Rigby, second by Pfeiffer that Ordinance No. 525, be adopted as <br />read, the caption of such adopted ardin~ice reads as fo11i~'s: <br />AN ORDINANCE ALTERING THE PRTNfA FACIE 5PE'ED LI~~IITS ESTABLISHED <br />F~ VEHICLESiNDER THE PROVISIONS OF FACTION 8 OF ARTICLE 827a, <br />VERNON~S TEXAS PENAL CODE, UPON THE BASIS OF AN ENGINEERING AND <br />TRA~FTC INVESTIGATION, UPON CERTAIN STREETS AND HIGI~PAYS, CR <br />PARTS THEREOF, ti'~THIN THE CORPORATE LINTS OF TF~ CI Ti OF LA- <br />POftTE, TEXAS, I~.S SET OUT IN THIS ORDINAI~E; AND PR~TIDIl~ THAT <br />ANY PE3SON VTOLATIP~ ANY OF T~ PROVIEIONS OF- THLS Cfft.DINANCE <br />SHALL BE DEEMm GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND UPON CONVICTION <br />SHALL BE FII~JED IN ANY SUM NOT MG3.E THAN T?~f0 HUNDRED DOLLARS <br />0200.00). <br />Carried. <br />It~OTION by Rigby second by Pfeiffer, that Ordinance No. 526, be adopted as <br />read.
