• <br />MINUTES -REGULAR MSETING <br />LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION -OCTOBER 3RD, 1958 <br />7:00 P. M. <br />Regular meeting of the. City Commission xas called to order by <br />Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, xith the following Commissioners presents- <br />Iaxler, Boyle and Rroxn. Also present xere Speofal Counsel <br />Jno. S. Kiibler, Sr., Supt. of Public Works W. A. Arthur and <br />Mrs. R. R. Runnels, Asst. City Clerk. <br />Minutes of the last ~seeting were read and approved. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Boyle, second by Laxler, that bill in the amount of ffi8'~.36 <br />from Hou-Port Aviation be paid; same being to reimburse you-Port Aviation <br />the cost of loxering obstruction light pole and moving same to extreme <br />Southeast corner of air field. <br />Carried. <br />The. Mayor read a letter received from the La Porte Liberal stating they had <br />a parking space problem, what with people using the parking area in front <br />of their office. They xant it reserved for their customers. The City <br />refuses to issue pr 3cvate parking space on a public street. Request denied. <br />Motion by Laxler, second bey Boyle, that vapor lights be installed on <br />Main St. beginning at the 'Y" at Tenth St. and w. Main St., thence down <br />W. Main St. to the traffic circle and out to E. Main and Virgiaia Sts. <br />Lights x3.11 also be installed on S. Second St. and "A" St. and in front <br />of the Post Office. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Brown', second by Boyle, that all permits to move buildings xould <br />be cleared through the Planning do Zoning Commission. <br />Carried. <br />Mr. Biibler is to study the present Building Permit Ordinance in order <br />that a more specific one may be passed. <br />Motion by Boyle, second by Broxn, that the Houston Light in g do Poxer Company's <br />bill in the amount of '293.86 be paid; same being to lower power lines at <br />the SE end of the NW-SE runxay of the La Porte Municipal Airport. <br />Carried. <br />Letter was read from the Southxestern Bell Tele phone Company regarding damages <br />caused by their contractors xhile installing underground cables in La Porte. <br />Commissioners Broxn and Osburn are to make a thorough check and advise the <br />Telephone Comparry of their findings. <br />
