<br />MINU'PES REGULAR MEETING <br />LA POR`I'E CITY COti~•ZISSIO?d - DI~CEi~~;~~:R lj, 1951 <br />7:00 r ~ I~2„ <br />F~eg~ul.ar meeting of the City Commission was called to order by H. P. Pfeiffer, <br />Mayor, with the following xmembers present: Commissioners Brown, Osbura, <br />Stabs and Dunham, City Attorney C.Pitman, Supt. Arthur, and City Clerk Baker. <br />Also present were Carlos Smith, Jim Holley and Police Chief Freeman. <br />Minutes of the last regular and special meetings were read and approved. <br />Carried. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer asked that the bids on sewer disposal plant be opened. The <br />bids were as follows: <br />Couch Consti^~.iction Co. X41,624.00 <br />Pasco Builders, Inc. 37,311.00 <br />The Hays Filter Co. 49,500.00 <br />Payne & Keller, Inc. 48,330.00 <br />Harvy Newton Co. 47,076.00 <br />Motion by Osborn, second by Brown, that all bids be turned over to engineer <br />for tabulation. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Stabs, second by Brown, that Ordinance No. 636, which was read in <br />full, be adopted as read. The caption of such adopted ordinance reads as <br />follows: <br />AN OR DINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMITS ON NOR TH 10TH STREET <br />FROM FOLK STREET NORTH TO THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LA- <br />PORTE (A PORTION OF STATE HIGHWAY N0. 146) WITHIN THE CITY <br />LIMITS OF LA PORTE, TERAS, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY OF NOT <br />MORE THAN X200.00 FOR EACH VIOLATION HEREOF <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Stabs, second by Osborn, that Wyatt Hedrick be authorized to caA- <br />plete plans and specifications on new jail building. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Brown, second by Stabs, that the City accept check in the amount <br />of X75.00 from the Humble Oil & Refining Company for 3 holes at airport. <br />Carried. <br />
