MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION -JANUARY 5TH, 1962 <br />?:00 P. M. <br />Regular meeting of the Cit~r Commission was called to order by Mayor H, P. <br />Pfeiffer, with the following mesabers present: Commissioners Brown, Dunham <br />and Stabs (Osborn working), Supt. Arthur Attorr~y Pitman, and City Clerk <br />Frank Baker. <br />Also present were Mr. Young and Mr. Eckhardt with Houston Natural Gas Corpor- <br />ation, Mrs. Brummerhop (Press), Ed King, Mr. Engle Smith, and Mr. Brummerhop. <br />Minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Dunham, second by Brown, that Ordinance No. 638 be adopted as read. <br />The caption of such adopted ordinance reads as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBII~ RATES TO BE CHARGED Fem. DISTRIBUTIDN AND SALE <br />OF NATUR AL GAS WITHIN THE CITY, AMID REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR <br />PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREG~ITH. <br />Carried. <br />Mr. King and Mr. Engle ~iith appeared before the Commission to introduce <br />themselves as Architects and Engineers. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer reported to the Commission that all industry papers are signed <br />and completed and are now on file with theCity Clerk. <br />Commissioner Brown stated that he would like to install additional street <br />lights in the area of Highway 1l~6 and Garfield, and from "J"` Street to <br />Garfield. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer requested that 600 Bk. S. Brownell be topped with asphalt <br />shell, and that he would pay costs, approximately x,200.00, total cost to <br />be determined at end. of paving. <br />Motion by Dunham, second by Stabs, that request of Mayor be allowed. <br />Carried, <br />Motion by Dunham, second by Stabs, that Box roughs service contract be <br />renewed, at a cost of $212,00. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Dunham, second by Stabs, that the account of Bayshore Engineering <br />Firm be paid sub3ect to confirmation of X75.00 item by Mr. Osborn. <br />Carried. <br />
