7:00 P. M, <br />Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. P, Pfeiffer,. <br />with the following members present: Con~i.ssioners Dunham, Stabs, Osborn and Brown, <br />City Attorney C.L. Pitmax, Supt. W,A.Arthur, and City Clerk Frank a. Baker. <br />Also present were Russell Shepherd, Mr. Barr with Humble Co., Gayle Mc Nutt, with <br />Hou-Port Airport, Tom Brown, and Carlos Smith. <br />Minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. <br />Carried. <br />Mr. Barr asked for permission to submit a bid on furnishing fuel and oil to the <br />City for 1962-63 fiscal year. The Mayor and Coma~issioa asked Mr. Barr to present <br />the bid at the next regular meeting. <br />Mr. Shepherd asked that he be permitted to run a stripe down the ru~ray at air- <br />port, also to place two signs on Spencer. <br />Motion by Osborn, second by Dunham, that Mr. Shepherd be allowed to proceed with <br />securing signs and arranging for the striping of ranway. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Osborn, second by Stabs, that the account of M. N. Dannenbaum Company <br />be paid. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Osborn, second by Dunham, that Mr. Ernest Brown be paid $1,000.00 for <br />services rendered on industry annexation. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Dunham, second by Stabs, that Block 4, Bay Front, be advertised for <br />bids as soon as all legal items pertaining to same are completed, ~ ni~,~ bid <br />to be accepted, $7,500.00. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Osborn, second by Dunham, that City Attorney be authorized to contact <br />Mrs. Chambers and others and work out plans to move fence that is in State <br />right-af-way ©n Highway 146. <br />Carried. <br />Motion by Stabs, second by Osburia, that A ttorney Pitxaaa proceed to procure <br />approximately 5 acres from the Womack property, either by pur chase or by <br />condemnatioxi. <br />Carried. <br />
