<br /> <br />The City of La Porte shall withdraw from deposit the sum <br />of $10,000.00 from each of the present depositories, namely South- <br />western Savings & Loan Assodiation of Houston, Texas, and Heights <br />Savings & Loan of Houston, Texas. <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this the 6th day of April, 1962. <br />Carried. <br />A letter from the La Porte Board of Adjus tment and one from the La Porte <br />Planning and Zoning Board, in connection with the re-opening of the <br />Beacon Drive Inn near Sylvan Beach, were read to the Commission. <br />Motion by Dunham, second by Osborn, that the Commis sion concur in .the <br />decisions of the Zoning Board and Board of Adjus tment, in the re-opening <br />of the Beacon Drive Inn as a business, without the sale of beer, wine <br />or liquor. <br />Carried. <br />A letter from the Humble Oil Compatay questioning the City's action in <br />continuing contract with Mobil Oil Company, when thcir company was <br />lower on two parts of the contract, was read by the Mayor. The two <br />parts on which Humble was lower were regular gas and diesel oil. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer stated that he will call. their man next week and explain <br />that the City uses no regular gas, and a moderate amount of diesel. <br />However, he will advise him that if his company wants the contract <br />for the diesel, that the City will be happy to deal with hint. <br />Bids for the pur chase of fire hose were opened and presented, as <br />follows: <br />EUREKA FIRE HOSE <br />350 of 1~" Fabric Fire Hose $1.4? Ft. <br />300' 2~" Fabric Fire Hose $2.01 Ft. <br />AMERICAN LA FRANCE <br />300' 2 ' <br />" Fire Hose ~k1.35 Ft. <br />350 l Fire Hose $1.23 Ft. <br />MID-CONTINENT TRANSMISSION & SUPPLY, INC. <br />350' of l' Fire Hose $1.47 Ft. <br />300' of 2 ' Fire Hose X2.01 Ft. <br />Motion by Stabs, second by Bonham, that the bid of Eureka Fire Hose, be <br />accepted. <br />Carried. <br />
