<br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL CALLED WORKSHOP MEETING <br />OF LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 6, 2000 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman Malone at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Members of City Council Present: Councilpersons Guy Sutherland, Chuck Engelken, <br />Howard Ebow, Peter Griffiths, Alton Porter, Deotis Gay, Charlie Young, Jerry Clarke, <br />and Norman Malone. <br /> <br />Council member Porter arrived at 6: 18 p.m. <br /> <br />Members of Council Absent: None. <br /> <br />Members of City Executive Staff and City Employees Present: Assistant City Manager <br />John Joerns, City Secretary Martha Gillett, Finance Director Cynthia Alexander, Parks <br />and Recreation Director Stephen Barr, Public Works Director Steve Gillett, Emergency <br />Services Director Joe Sease, Planning Director Doug Kneupper, Police Chief Richard <br />Reff and Assistant Parks and Recreation Director Mike Davis. <br /> <br />Others Present: Bret Keast, Don Cole, Lori Druckenbrodt, Roy Myers, Clarence Morgan, <br />Bill Scott, Sue Gail Kooken, Colleen Hicks and a number of citizens. <br /> <br />2. Mayor Norman Malone delivered the invocation. <br /> <br />3. PETITIONS, REMONSTRANCES, COMMUNICATIONS, AND CITIZENS AND <br />T AXP AYERS WISHING TO ADDRESS COUNCIL. <br /> <br />The following citizens addressed City Council: <br /> <br />Bill Scott - 1802 Lomax School Road - Mr. Scott provided City Council with a hand out <br />and expressed concerns with the Farrington Blvd. Extension. <br /> <br />4. The special called workshop meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 6:15 P.M. <br /> <br />Discuss comprehensive plan update Chapters 7 through 13. <br /> <br />Planning Director Doug Kneupper provided Council with a summary of the <br />Comprehensive Plan Review process. Bret Keast with Wilbur Smith Associates provided <br />Council with further summary and details of the review process. <br /> <br />5. Workshop adjourned and the regular meeting re-convened at 7:20 P.M. <br />
