TEXAS <br />August 28, 2008 <br />City of La Porte <br />Honorable Mayor Alton Porter and City Council <br />City of La Porte <br />Re: Special Conditional Use Permit #SCU08-006 <br />Dear Mayor Porter and Council: <br />Established 1892 <br />The La Porte Planning and Zoning Commission, during a regular meeting on August 21, 2008, <br />considered Special Conditional Use Permit Request #SCU08-006. Brent Heckendorn, for Allen & <br />Kerber Auto Supply, seeks approval to allow off-site parking for the existing business located at <br />518 West Main Street. <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission, by a 5-2 vote, recommends that City Council consider <br />approval of Special Conditional Use Permit #08-006 with the following conditions in place: <br />1. This Special Conditional Use Permit is specifically for off-site parking. <br />2. Parking lot will be constructed in compliance with the City's Public Improvement Criteria <br />Manual (PICM) for paving. <br />3. Off-site parking shall comply with all parking design standards. <br />4. Screening and/or landscaping of parking lot shall be required in accordance with Section 106- <br />444(a) of the Code of Ordinances. <br />5.
