ORDINANCE NO. 2014 - <br />AN ORDINANCE RELEASING AN EIGHT (8) FOOT WIDE UTILITY EASEMENT <br />LOCATED WITHIN LOT 9, BLOCK 6, SHADY RIVER SUBDIVISION, SECTION <br />3, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />WHEREAS, 'the City Council of the City of La Porte has been <br />requested by the record owner of Lot 9, Block 6, of the Shady <br />River Subdivision, Section 3, Harris County, Texas (said <br />subdivision filed for record in Volume 146, Page 57 of the <br />Harris County Map Records), to release an existing eight (8) <br />foot wide utility easement located within the above described <br />property; <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte has <br />determined and does hereby find, determine, and declare that the <br />hereinafter described eight (8) foot wide utility easement is no <br />longer suitable, needed, or beneficial to the public as a <br />utility easement, and the release of the hereinafter described <br />eight (8) foot wide utility easement is for the protection of <br />the public and for the public interest and benefit, and that the <br />hereinafter described eight (8) foot wide utility easement <br />should be permanently released. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE: <br />Section 1. Under and by virtue of the power granted to <br />the City of La Porte under its home rule charter and Chapter <br />253, Section 253.001, Texas Local Government Code, the <br />hereinafter described eight (8) foot wide utility easement, is <br />
