i <br /> 1=)_0hrS- <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 13&8 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 38 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF <br /> THE CITY OF LA PORTE BY AMENDING CHAPTER 38 "FIRE PREVENTION <br /> AND PROTECTION," ARTICLE III "STANDARDS", DIVISION 1 <br /> "GENERALLY", SECTION 38-101 "FIRE CODE ADOPTED" BY ADOPTING <br /> THE 2015 EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE, TOGETHER <br /> WITH ALL LOCAL AMENDMENTS THERETO; PROVIDING A REPEALING <br /> CLAUSE; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br /> THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; <br /> PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS <br /> ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND UPON <br /> CONVICTION SHALL BE FINED IN A SUM NOT TO EXCEED TWO THOUSAND <br /> DOLLARS; PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION OF THE CAPTION HEREOF; <br /> AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE,TEXAS: <br /> Section 1. Chapter 38, "Fire Prevention and Protection", Article III "Standards", <br /> Division 1 "Generally", Section 38-101 "Fire Code Adopted", of the Code of <br /> Ordinances of the City of LaPorte, is hereby amended and shall hereafter read as <br /> follows,to-wit: <br /> Section 38-101.Fire code adopted. <br /> The International Fire Code, 2015 Edition, together with all local amendments thereto, <br /> which are all on file in the office of the city secretary, is hereby adopted as the fire code <br /> of the city, incorporated by reference in this article, and made a part hereof, as fully as if <br /> copied at length herein verbatim." <br /> Section 2. The City Council of the City of La Porte herby adopts local amendments to the <br /> International Fire Code, 2015 Edition,which are on file in the office of the city secretary, <br /> and,are attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated by reference for all purposes. <br /> Section 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with the terms of this <br /> ordinance are hereby repealed; provided, however, that such repeal shall be only to the <br /> extent of such inconsistency and in all other respects this ordinance shall be cumulative <br /> of other ordinances regulating and governing the subject matter covered by this <br /> ordinance. <br />
