After reviewing the bids on the 12 inch water main and other <br />costs associated with the project, it became evident that <br />the project could not be completed with the available funds <br />unless the scope of the project is reduced. John Joerns, <br />Carlos Smith and Joe Sease reviewed the project and suggested <br />deleting fire hydrants which are not at this time necessary <br />to the project. Review of the project revealed 22 fire <br />hydrants could be deleted and we would still have more than <br />adequate fire protection and bring us within the budgeted <br />funds. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Tomerlin to award the contract <br />to McKey Construction Co. for the construction of 12 inch <br />A.C. water mains and appurtenances in the amount of 252,542.55 <br />subject to successful negotiations with the contractor to <br />• delete 22 fire hydrant assemblies from the proposed construction <br />second by Councilman Simons. The motion carried 3 ayes and <br />0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilman Tomerlin, Councilman Simons, Mayor Meza <br />Nays; None <br />5. Mayor Meza advised the Council of the grant received to be <br />applied to the purchase of the 36 passenger bus, he reminded <br />the Council they had agreeded to take the balance needed from <br />the Revenue Sharing Contengency. Sherwood reviewed the three <br />bids submitted: <br />Jay Marks Chev. $22,730.07 <br />Longhorn Bus 30,450.00 <br />Joe Camp Ford 22,707.73 <br />Sherwood stated the low bid submitted by Joe Camp Ford met <br />the bid specifications. <br />Motion was made by Councilman Tomerlin to accept the bid <br />submitted by Joe Camp Ford and appropraite 10,70 .00 from <br />• the Revenue Sharing Contengency to fund the balance needed, <br />sec©nd by Councilman Simons.
