The motion carried, 9 <br />ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris, Kibodeaux, <br />Simons, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br />• <br />7;. Council considered a request for variance to the parking <br />requirements for a commercial establishment by Swann Tech:- <br />nical Services, 125 South 3rd Street. <br />A motion was made b <br />uest <br />onded <br />8. Council considered a change order (#8) requested for the new <br />Service Center. The request is for three (3) additional <br />double sided exit signs. Paulissen noted these were required <br />and noted on the prints at the time of issuance and have not <br />been added. This is a standard exit requirement for the cor- <br />ridor locations. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Simons to approve change <br />order 8 for the La Porte Service Center Contract with Lee <br />Rowe Construction Company, increasing the contract rice b <br />925. from 3,9 2 to ,887. T e motion was sec- <br />onded by Councilperson Gay. The motion carried, 8 ayes and <br />1 nay. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris, Simons, Gay, <br />Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: Councilperson Kibodeaux <br />9. Administrative Reports; <br />City Manager Hudgens introduced Weldon Randall, 504 South <br />First Street. Randall thanked the Council for the honor <br />conferred upon him by appointing him to the Civil Service <br />Board of Directors and stated he would serve to the best of <br />his ability. <br />Hudgens offered general. information concerning the Port Authority <br />progress on the L Street project going into the storage yard <br />being constructed. <br />• <br />0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris, Kibodeaux, <br />Simons, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays; None <br />
