Meeting called to order by Mayor Meza at 7:00 P.M. <br />Members of the Council Present: Mayor J. J. Meza, Council- <br />persons Norman L. Malone, Jo n Longley, I. J. Kibodeaux, <br />Deotis Gay, Don Skelton, Linda Westergren <br />Members of the Council Absent: Councilpersons Gus Faris, <br />Tom Simons <br />Members of City Staff Present: City Attorney Knox Askins, <br />City Secretary Betty T. Waters, Director of Public Works <br />Jerry Hodge, Director of Parks & Recreation Stanley Sherwood, <br />Assistant Police Chief Robert Hall, Director of Engineering <br />Services John Joerns, Tony White of the F-ire Marshal's office. <br />Others Present: Betsy Webber, Bayshore Sun; Frieda Beaty, <br />Baytown Sun; 14 citizens <br />2. City Attorney Askins gave the invocation due to Councilperson <br />Skelton's absence from the Council table. <br />3. Council considered the minutes of the Regular Meeting of the <br />La Porte City Council held November 4, 1981. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Kibodeaux to accept and ap- <br />prove the minutes as presented.. Seconded. by Councilperson <br />Longley. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Kibodeaux, Gay, Skelton, <br />Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br />4. Council considered the appointment of a representative and <br />alternate to the Houston-Galveston Area Council for 1982. <br />A motion was made b Councilperson. Malone to appoint Council- <br />person B. Don Skelton as t e 1982 Representative and Gus Faris <br />as alternate. Seconded by Councilperson Kibo eaux. T e motion <br />carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Kibodeaux, Gay, Skelton, <br />Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br />
