• • <br />MINUTES - SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTS CITY COMMISSION, LA PORTS, TEXAS <br />April 5, 1967 <br />7:00 F.M. <br />MEMBE.~'S OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners <br />W. A. Stabs, Jr., Lois J. Compton, and Charles D. Boyle. <br />MEMBERS OF THE CCMMISSION ABSENT: Commissioner Russell Shepherd. <br />GTHER C1TY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Attorney Knox W'. Askins, City Clerk <br />Marilyn KeLZey, City Engineer H. Carlos Smith, and Street Superin- <br />tendent Clifford Ellis. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. <br />+ + + <br />1. The Commission discussed with the officials of Lomax, Morgan's Point, <br />and Shoreacres, the ambulance problems facing us, and advised them <br />of the steps our City has taken so far. Another special meeting was <br />called for Wednesday, April 19, to further discuss the problem. <br />+ + + <br />2. Commissioner Stabs mane a motion, seconded by Commissioner Compton, <br />that the payment of X6,853.75, less 1016, to Joe Camp Motors, /nc., <br />be approved. Motion carried. (New Fire Truck) <br />+ + + <br />3. The City Engineer stated that he had purchased a Toro lawn mower, <br />from La Porte Lawn and Garden Supply, instead of the Case mower. <br />Cost #836.00. Ne requested that the purchase be ratified. <br />Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Boyle, <br />that the purchase of the Toro mower be ratified. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />4. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs, <br />that the extension of sew~_r lines to Block 47, Bayfront, be <br />approved. Approx. cost X1,615.60. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />5. The Director of Publice Works requested authorization to purchase <br />eight water fountains for the Little League Bali Parks. (Approx. <br />Cost ~360.00~. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by <br />Commissioner Compton, that the purchase of the water :fountains, <br />and piping to the two new fields be authorized. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />
