MINUTES - SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA AORTE CITY COMM/SS/ON, LA PORTS, TEXAS <br />NOVEMBER 24, 9969 <br />7:00 P. M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Commissioners <br />E.A. Thomas, Charles D. Boyle, Bobby J. Burgin and H.Gould Crofoot. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None. <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: City Administrator P. V. Werner, City Clerk <br />Virginia Cline, City Attorney Knox Askins and Director of Public Works <br />Robert Cline. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. <br />+ + + <br />Mayor Pfeiffer opened the meeting for the purpose of holding a <br />Public Hearing on the proposed annexation of the following areas. <br />To-wit: <br />Tract 9 - College View Municipal Utility District, as defined in <br />Ordinance No. 832. <br />Tract 2 - Fairmont Park Community, as defined in Ordinance No. 833. <br />Tract 3 - Comnunittes of Crescent Shores, Beck Addition, Oakhurst <br />and Shady Shores, as defined in Ordinance No. 834. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer asked if anyone wished to speak on the annexation <br />o f Trac t 9 . <br />W. A. Stabs Jr. spoke in opposition of the annexation. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer then asked if anyone wished to speak on the <br />annexation of Tract 2. <br />Several residents of the Fairmont Park Addition asked questions <br />of Mayor Pfeiffer and the Commission. Among those speaking <br />were Mr. T. O. Martin, Mr. Justin Morrow, Mr. Robroy Carroll, <br />Mr. Joseph Fabian, Mr. Robert Gunderson, Mr. James McCowen, Mr. <br />Walter Bowids Mr. Jack Comeaux, Mr. John Davis, Mr. Nesbitt and <br />Mr. DuPont. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer asked if anyone wished fo speak on the annexation <br />o f Trac t 3. <br />Mr. Bill Love, President of the Oyster Bay Association, spoke <br />in opposition of the annexation. <br /> <br />Members <br />Present. <br />Absent. <br />Other City <br />Officials <br />Present <br />Presiding <br />Pub 1 i c <br />Hearing <br />On <br />Annexation <br />Several residents of the Cresent Shores Addition were present. <br />
