MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTS CITY CUMM/SS/ON, LA PORTS, TEXAS <br />FEBRUARY 2, 9970 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMM/SS/ON PRESENT: Mayor H.P.Pfeiffer, Commissioners <br />E. A. Thomas, Charles D. Boyle, Bobby J. Burgin, and H.Gould Crofoot. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMM/SS/ON ABSENT: None. <br />OTNER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: P.V. Werner, City Administrator, <br />Virginia Cline, City Clerk, Knox Askins, City Attorney, Robert Cline, <br />Director of Public Works, and H. F. Freeman, Chief of Police. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer. <br />+ + + <br />9. Minutes of the regular meeting of January 99, 9970 were <br />approved as presented. <br />+ + + <br />2. Mayor Pfeiffer read the proposaC from Mr. Hugh Landrum for <br />tax apprasial services. REFER TO MINUTES OF January 99, 9970 <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Thomas, seconded by Commissioner <br />Crofoot that the proposal be accepted as read. Motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Boyle, Burgin, and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />3. Judge George Counts gave a short report on the re-organization <br />of the local Welfare Board. Judge Counts stated the Committee <br />was presently working toward getting various agencies to <br />set up offices in La Porte. <br />+ + + <br />4. Rev. Gus Browning appeared before the Commission in regards <br />to setting up a program whereby the Peen age youth would be <br />permitted by the City Commission and the Chief of Police to <br />ride in patrol cars, so that they may see first hand the <br />workings of the Police Department. <br /> <br />Minutes <br />Approved. <br />Hugh Landrum <br />Proposal <br />Welfare <br />Committee <br />Report <br />Youth on <br />Patrol <br />Program <br />
