~ ~ z <br />CAPTION: <br />AN ORDINANCE CALLING THE REGULAR ANNUAL ELECTION OF THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTS; DESIGNATING AN ELECTION PRECINCT AND <br />A POLLING PLACE; PROVIDING FOR THE USE OF VOTING MACHINES; <br />APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICIALS; PROVIDING FOR METHOD AND <br />DATES OF ABSENTEE VOTING; PROV/DING FOR RETURN AND CANVASS <br />OF VOTES OF SAID ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR NOTICE; PROVIDING <br />FOR FILING DEADLINE AND FILING FEES FOR CANDIDATES; <br />PROVIDING A SAV/NGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE HEREOF. <br />+ + + <br />4. Motion was made by Commissioner Crofoot, seconded by Contract with <br />Commissioner Thomas that the Mayor and City Clerk be Harris Co. for <br />authorized to sign the contract with Harris County Prisioners <br />regarding the feeding and housing of county prisioners <br />temporarily confined in the City jail. Motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Boyle, Burgin and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />5. Motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, seconded by Sewer line <br />Commissioner Thomas That Mr. Werner be authorized to Oak Park <br />to get an estimate of the cost of putting sewer Trailer Park <br />lines in to service an area along Crest Lane from <br />5th street to Hwy. 946 and north to the Oak Park <br />Trailer Park. Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Boyle, Burgin and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />6. The City Attorney presented to the City Commission, H.C. W.C. I. D. <br />copies of a Resolution by the Board of Directors, #56, Tax Note <br />H.C. W.C./.D #56, together with said Districts proposed & Resolution <br />,20,000.00 Tax A'nttcipation Note to La Porte State <br />Bank. Said Resolution and copy of said note are attached <br />to these minutes as Exhibt A hereto. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, seconded by <br />Commissioner Crofoot, that the City approve such <br />action by H.C. W.C./.D #56, and that the Mayor and <br />the City Clerk be authorized to co-sign said <br />X20,000.00 Tax Anttcipation Note on behalf of the <br />City of La Porte. Motion carried by the foZZowtng vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Boyle, Burgin and Crofoot. <br />MAYES: None. <br />+ + + <br />7. Commissioner Crofoot stated thaf the party that had Property at <br />demolished a building at 202 S. Utah had forfeited 202 Utah <br />his bond of ,900.00 to the City in lieu of cleaning cleaned by <br />up the property and since the Teen Club had done an Teen Club <br />excellant job of cleaning the property he felt they <br />should receive the money. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Crofoot, seconded by <br />
