~ z <br />The Mayor then invited comments from anyone opposed <br />to the amendment. No one present spoke in opposition <br />to the amendment. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer stated he had received one telephone <br />call from Mrs. Lila Gordon, who had attended a previous <br />meeting when the change had been discussed. Mrs. Gordon <br />could not attend the meeting tonight and asked Mayor <br />Pfeiffer to relay a message to the. hearing that her <br />feelings had not changed; that she could not see any <br />reason for reversing the front and the back, but allow <br />a fence to be placed on the property line on these <br />particular streets, provided of course the fence was <br />of a chain-link nature and not a solid board fence. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer stated he had assured Mrs. Gordon that <br />he would express her comments at the meeting. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer asked if there were any more comments on <br />the proposed amendment. There being none, Mayor Pfeiffer <br />declared the hearing closed. <br />+ + + <br />Mayor Pfeiffer then called for the second request of <br />the Public Hearing; to re-zone Outlot 30, Nebraska <br />Syndicate, from R-1 Residential to Mobile Home Park. <br />It was ascertained that a Public Notice of this hear- <br />ing was published in the official newspaper of the city <br />on March 19, 1970, and that notice of the hearing had <br />been sent to all property owners within 200 feet of the <br />property to be re-zoned. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer asked if there was anyone to speak in <br />favor of the re-zoning. <br />Mr. Ben Fleming, the Petitioner, stated he owned all <br />of Outlot 30, and because of the location of the <br />property he felt that development as a Mobile Home <br />Park was the best use for the property at this time. <br />questions were asked by Mrs. Lois Compton and Mr. <br />Glen Holmes, with no opposition being expressed. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer stated Mr. H. J. Yarborough, who owns <br />20 acres north of Outlot 30, had notified the city by <br />letter that he did object to the re-zoning, as he is <br />of the opinion it would be a great detriment to his <br />property, which is zoned industrial. <br />Mayor Pfeiffer asked if there were any further comments <br />and there being none, he declared the hearing closed. <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission then voted to <br />
