MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION, LA PORTE, TEXAS <br />MAY 18, 1970 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. Carlos Smith, <br />Commissioners E. A. Thomas, I. J. Kibodeaux, Bobby J. Burgin <br />and H. Gould Crofoot. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None. <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: P.V. Werner, City Administrator; <br />Virginia Cli{ie, City Clerk;. Knox Askins, City Attorney; <br />Robert Cline, Director of Public Works; H. F. Freeman, <br />Chief of Police. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Smith. <br />+ + + <br />Invocation was given by Commissioner Burgin. <br />1. Minutes of the regular meeting of May 4, 1970 <br />were approved as presented. <br />+ + + <br />2. Motion by Commissioner Thomas, seconded by <br />Commissioner Burgin that action be tabled on <br />the acceptance of bids for hospitalization <br />insurance until all insurance agencies in the <br />city could be notified and submit bids. Motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Burgin <br />and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />3. Commissioner Crofoot read bids received in the <br />City Administrator's office May 15, 1970, for a <br />19'70 Model Police Patrol Car. To-wit: <br />Joe Camp Ford X3,386.68 <br />Jay Marks Chevrolet ;3,480.96 <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Crofoot, seconded by <br />
