• ~ z 3, A lengthly discussion was held on the request of Chemsoil Engineers to operate a landfill for industrial waste Type II materials, in Outlot 1'] of the Nebraska Syndicate. Motion by Commissioner Thomas, seconded by Commissioner Crofoot that the request be denied. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Ribodeaux, Burgin and Crofoot. NAYS: None. + + + 4. Mrs. Emma Smith addressed the Commission in regards to the closin of twenty (20) feet of "X" Street and forty ~40) feet of Park Avenue in Block 13?3, I,a Porte. Mrs. Smith presented a petition signed by other property owners in the area agreeing to the closing of these streets. Motion by Commissioner Crofoot, seconded by Commissioner Burgin to table action on Mrs. Smith's request until the City had the oppor- tunity to determine where water and sewer lines would be installed in the area. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Burgin and Crofoot. Commissioner Thomas stated a Public Hearing was being held in Austin on August 11, 1970 in regards to the DuPont Company's proposed disposal wells at the La Porte plant and suggested the Commission send a representa- tive to the hearing.
