• <br />MINUTES - SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA FORTE CITY COMMISSION, LA FORTE, TEXAS <br />OCTOBER 6, 1970 <br />8:3o P.M. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION PRESENT: Mayor H. Carlos Smith <br />Commissioners E.A.Thomas, I.J.Kibodeaux, Bobby J. Burgin <br />and H. Gould Crofoot. <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ABSENT: None. <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS PRESENT: P. V. Werner, City Administrator; <br />Virginia Cline City Clerk; Knox Askins, City Attorney; <br />Robert Cline, director of Public Works and H.F.Freeman, <br />Chief of Police. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Smith <br />+ + + <br />1. The City Commission hereby finds, determines, and <br />declares that the subject matter of this meeting <br />constitutes an emergency or urgent public necessity, <br />and that notice of this meeting was posted by the <br />City Clerk of the City of La Porte, before this <br />meeting was convened or called to order. <br />+ + + <br />2. Mayor Smith called the meeting to order and stated <br />that due to a lack of communication, another meeting <br />had been called and was being held at this time at <br />the DeWalt School and that he personally would like <br />to attend the meeting. <br />Motion by Comm. Burgin, seconded by Comm. Crofoot <br />that the meeting be adjourned so that the Mayor <br />and those members of the Commission that so desired <br />could attend the meeting at DeWalt School. Motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Burgin <br />and Crofoot. <br />Nays: None. <br />+ + <br />t est : ~~ <br />. . <br />H.
