• <br /> <br />Regular Meeting 3/20/72 - continued <br />Mrs. Cline stated anyone applying for a permit to <br />solicit in La Porte was cleared through the Better <br />Business Bureau and were required to pay a X5.00 <br />fee. The Police Department was notified any time <br />complaints were made. against anyone soliciting <br />and that the City Attorney was reviewing the present <br />ordinance for possible revisions. <br />Mr. Spradling also question the Commission about <br />annexation of the Shady River Subdivision. He <br />stated he did not feel the city could afford to <br />annex any more territory. <br />Mayor Smith stated some residents of the Bayshore <br />Municipal Utility District had petitioned the <br />Commission for annexation, but the Commission. <br />had stated before that they would. not annex any <br />of the district until such time as all of the <br />district could be annexed. <br />+ + + <br />• <br />3. Mr. Decker McKim, President of the Chamber of Commerce, <br />addressed the Commission to request the city to <br />waive the water and sewer tap fees on their new <br />building at Eight and "G" Streets. <br />The Commission stated they would like to help the <br />Chamber of Commerce in any way possible, but <br />the City Attorney had stated under Ordinance 759 <br />the City did not have the authority to waive <br />the fees. <br />Motion by Comm. Kibodeaux, seconded by Comm. Sampson <br />to postpone for additional study the Chamber of <br />Commerce's request for the city to waive the <br />water and sewer tap fees on their new building. <br />Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Sampson <br />and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />,~'i <br />• 4. Motion by Comm. Sampson, seconded by Comm. Crofoot <br />to adopt Ordinance No. 916 as read. Motion carried <br />
