<br />Regular Meeting 4/3/72 - continued <br />• <br />Town of La Porte, to permit the building of <br />a shopping center. He stated plans were to begin <br />construction by May lst. <br />The Commission advised Mr. Westergren to submit <br />the proper application for the alley closing. <br />+ + + <br />3. A canvass of the votes cast in the Municipal <br />Election, held on Saturday, April 1, 1972 <br />was made. <br />Motion by Comm. Crofoot, seconded by Comm. Thomas <br />to adopt Ordinance No. 917 as read. Motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />ABSENT: Commissioner Sampson. <br />• CAPTION: <br />AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE REGULAR <br />ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE ON APRIL 1, <br />1972, FOR THE ELECTION OF A MAYOR; A CITY COMMISSIONER <br />POSITION 2; AND A CITY COMMIS>SIONER, POSITION 4. <br />+ + + <br />4. Mayor Smith called a special meeting for Monday, <br />April 10, 1972 at '7:00 p.m. for the purpose <br />of administering the oath of office to the <br />newly elected officials. <br />+ + + <br />5. Motion by Comm. Thomas, seconded by Comm. Kibodeaux <br />to adopt Ordinance No. 918 as read. Motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />• ABSENT: Commissioner Sampson. <br /> <br />
