LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 27, 1994 <br />1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Norman Malone at 6:00 <br />P.M. <br />Members of Citg~uncil Present: Mayor Norman Malone, <br />Councilpersons Mike Cooper, Bob Thrower, Bob McLaughlin, Alton <br />Porter, Deotis Gay, Jack Maxwell and Jerry Clarke <br />Members of Council Absent: Councilperson Guy Sutherland <br />Members of City Staff Present: City Manager Robert T. <br />Herrera, Assistant City Attorney John Armstrong, City <br />Secretary Sue Lenes, Assistant City Manager John Joerns, <br />Municipal Court Judge J.B. Williamson, Director of <br />Administrative Services Louis Rigby, Chief of Police Bobby <br />Powell, Director of .Public Works Steve Gillett, Director of <br />Parks and Recreation Stephen Barr, Purchasing Agent Susan <br />Kelley, Records Management Administrator/Assistant to the City <br />Secretary Rita Lacey, Golf Pro Alex Osmond <br />Others Present: Bay Area District Manager for BFI Larry <br />Goswick; two citizens Gladys Roth and Helen McFerren <br />2. The invocation was given by Councilperson Jerry Clarke. <br />3. Council considered approving minutes of Regular Meeting June <br />13, 1994. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Thrower to approve the <br />minutes of June 13 as presented. ..Second by Councilperson <br />Maxwell. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays and i abstain. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, <br />Gay, Maxwell and Clarke <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Mayor Malone <br />4. There were no citizens wishing to address Council. <br />5. Council considered ordinances authorizing the execution by the <br />City of La Porte of Industrial District Agreements with Nippon <br />Pigment (USA) and Rphm and Haas. <br />
