• • <br />Minutes Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />December 11, 1995, Page 2 <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1875-C - A ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 1875, AND <br />ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND ALLOWING, UNDER THE ACT GOVERNING THE TEXAS <br />MUNICIPAL RETIREMENT SYSTEM, "UPDATED SERVICE CREDITS" IN SAID SYSTEM FOR <br />SERVICE PERFORMED BY QUALIFYING MEMBERS OF SUCH SYSTEM WHO PRESENTLY ARE <br />IN THE EMPLOYMENT OF THE CITY OF LA PORTS; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to approve Ordinance 95-1875-C as read by the Citv <br />Attorney. Second by Councilperson Gay. The motion carved, 6 ayes and 0 nays. CONSIDER APPROVAL OR OTHER ACTION REGARDING AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND <br />AUTHORIZING AN EXTENSION OF THE PRIME CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISE <br />AGREEMENT (Ord. 95-2080) - K. Askins <br />City Attorney Knox Askins reviewed the summary and recommendation for the request. <br />City Attorney read: AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN EXTENSION OF THE <br />PRIME CABLE TELEVISION FRANCHISE AGREEMENT, WHICH EXPIRES ON DECEMBER 31, <br />1995, THROUGH JUNE 30, 1996; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING <br />TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made b~Councilgerson McLaughlin to approve Ordinance 95-2080 as read by the City <br />Attorney. Second by Councilperson Cooper.
