Council considered approving the minutes of the workshop and <br />special called meeting held July 21, 1986. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Waters to approve the minutes <br />of the Julv 21 meeting as presented. Second by Councilperson <br />Westergren. The motion carried, 6 ayes, 0 nays, 3 abstain. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Matuszak, Pfeiffer, Skelton, <br />Westergren and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Councilpersons Lloyd, Porter and Gay (were not <br />present at July 21 meeting) <br /> <br />5. Mayor Malone, on behalf of the entire Council, presented a <br />plaque to Police Officer Gary Chastain, for his efforts in <br />saving the life of a child on July 20. <br /> <br />6. Various representatives of the Industrial District addressed <br />Council regarding the proposed new Industrial District <br />Agreements. Their names are listed on page 1 of these <br />minutes. <br /> <br />7. Council considered approving reV1Slons of the administration <br />and consulting contract with James Benefits. <br /> <br />Stan Self, representing James Benefits, addressed Council <br />regarding this contract. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilperson Matuszak to approve the <br />revisions of the administration and consulting contract with <br />James Benefits. Second by Councilperson Gay. The motion <br />carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />8. Council considered adopting an ordinance amending the speed <br />limit ordinance to include a new school zone for Lomax Junior <br />High School. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1466-A - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 25, ARTICLE 2, SECTIONS 25-23, AND 25-24, OF <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, FOR THE <br />PURPOSE OF DESIGNATING MAXIMUM SPEED LIMITS UPON THE STREETS <br />
