Don <br />_Skelton as representative and Ed Matuszak as alternate <br />representative to the Houston-Galveston Area Council <br />General Assembly. Second by Councilperson Porter. The <br />motion carried, 5 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Matuszak, Porter, Skelton, Clarke and <br />Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />7. Council considered awarding a bid for sign materials. <br />Motion was made by.Council~erson Matuszak to award the bid <br />for sign materials to Vulcan Sims. Second by <br />Councilperson Skelton. The motion carried, 5 ayes and 0 <br />nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Matuszak, Porter, Skelton, Clarke and <br />Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />8. Administrative Reports <br />The City Manager reported that starting with the October <br />billing, a 7 percent sales tax wi_11 be added to the charges <br />for garbage service for' all users except schools and <br />churches. The added charge is due to recent State <br />?.egislata.on which taxes many services not previously taxed. <br />The City Manager presented a status report on the CIP <br />Manager third-party contract. Several firms have been <br />interviewed, and the choice narrowed down to three: CRS <br />Sirene, Dannenbaum Engineering, and Project Managerlent <br />Services. He hopes to come before Council. in about a week <br />with the service contract. <br />The third item mentioned was a joint workshop meeting with <br />the Golf Course Advisory Board on October 14. <br />The last item was far Council's consideration of having a <br />called meeting of Council on October 19, in order to bring <br />several items to Council's attention. These are Little <br />Cedar Bayou Park, third-party administration contract, and <br />other items. It was decided to hold the meeting at 7:00 <br />P.M., i_f possible, due to several Council members having a <br />previous commitment. <br />g. Councilpersons Matuszak, Skelton, and Mayor ~4alone brought <br />sterns to Council's attention. <br />
