<br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />.-'\.. , <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS <br /> <br />Be it resolved by the Board of Directors of the La Porte- <br /> <br /> <br />Bayshore Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit corporation organized <br /> <br />under the laws of the State of Texas, <br /> <br />it's principal offices <br /> <br />existing within La Porte, Harris County, Texas, that: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Board of Directors of the La Porte-Bayshore <br /> <br />Chamber of Commerce find that the Pavilion at Sylvan Beach Park, <br /> <br /> <br />said park being owned by the County of Harris, State of Texas, is <br /> <br />a cultural asset to the citizens of La Porte and the La Porte- <br /> <br />Bayshore area; and <br /> <br />\<lHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Board of Directors of the La Porte-Bayshore <br /> <br />Chamber of Commerce further find that said Sylvan Beach Pavilion <br /> <br /> <br />is a focal point of La Porte and Bayshore Community pride; and <br /> <br />i'IHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Board of Directors of the La Porte-Bayshore <br /> <br />Chamber of Commerce finds that said Sylvan Beach Pavilion has <br /> <br />historical significance as a contributing factor to the economic <br /> <br />and cultural development of the La Porte-Bayshore area; and <br /> <br />vlHEHEAS, <br /> <br />the Board of Directors of the La Porte-Bay shore <br /> <br />Chauber of Commerce finds that said Sylvan Beach Pavilion <br /> <br />attracts commerce, <br /> <br />conventions and is a focal point of large <br /> <br />community gatherings; and <br /> <br />iIHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Board of Directors of the La Porte-Bay shore <br /> <br />Chamber of Commerce finds that said Sylvan Beach Pavilion was <br /> <br />extensively damaged by hurricane Alicia; and <br /> <br />HHEHEAS, <br /> <br />the Board of Directors of the La Porte-Bayshore <br /> <br />Chamber of Commerce finds that said Sylvan Beach Pavilion has <br /> <br /> <br />remained closed and inoperative and unrepaired since the damage <br /> <br />received by hurricane Alicia; and <br /> <br />HHEHEAS, <br /> <br />the Board of Directors of the La Porte-Bayshore <br /> <br />Chamber of Commerce find that the reopening of Sylvan Beach <br /> <br />Pavilion is without question in the best interest of the citizens <br /> <br />of La Porte and the Bayshore Area; <br />NOH THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of La Porte- <br />
