Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />September 23, 1985, Page 3 <br />Questions from Council were answered by Mr. McLain. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1465 - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 26, ARTICLE II, "WATER, SEWERS, AND SEWAGE <br />DISPOSAL,t~ OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE; <br />ESTABLISHING A NEW RATE AND FEE STRUCTURE; FINDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br />Motion way made by Councilperson P~elffer to adopt Ordinance <br />1465 as reed by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Westergren. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Walker, Lloyd, Matuszak, Waters, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />7. Council considered a resolution adopting the budget for fiscal <br />year 1985-86. <br />The City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 85-13 - A RESOLUTION <br />APPROVING AND ADOPTING A BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE, <br />TEXAS, FOR THE PERIOD OCTOBER 1, 1985, THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, <br />1986, FINDING THAT ALL THINGS REQUISITE AND NECESSARY HAVE <br />BEEN DONE IN PREPARATION AND PRESENTMENT OF SAID BUDGET. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Gay to adopt Resolution 85-1~ <br />as read by the Citv Attornev. Second by Councilperson <br />Westergren. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to amend the budget <br />to include a flagpole at a cost of $2500. Second by <br />Councilperson Gay. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Walker, Lloyd, Matuszak, Waters, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />The vote was then taken on the original motion. The motion <br />carried, 7 ayes and 2 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Lloyd, Matuszak, Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, <br />Westergren and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: Councilpersons Walker and Waters <br />
