• <br />MINUTES OF THE <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 24, 1985 <br />1. The special meeting of the La Porte City Council was called to <br />order by Mayor Malone at 7:30 P.M. <br />Members of City Council Presen Mayor Norman Malone, <br />Councilpersons John Lloyd, Ed Matuszak, Lindsay Pfeiffer, <br />Deotis Gay, Linda Westergren <br />Members of City Council Absent: Councilpersons Delbert <br />Walker, Betty Waters, B. Don Skelton <br />Members of City Staff Present: City Manager Jack Owen, City <br />Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Cherie Black, Assistant <br />City Manager Richard Hare, Finance Officer Tom Keilman, <br />Administrative Assistant Olivia Moeller <br />Others Present: David Fetzer and Pete Fisher, Moroney & <br />Beissner; Dick Richards and Rowland Geddie, Baker & Botts <br />2. The Mayor declared the bidding closed on bids for $5,000,000 <br />general obligation bonds and $6,000,000 waterworks and sewer <br />system revenue bonds. <br />The Mayor turned the meeting over to David Fetzer of Moroney, <br />Beissner, who reported that six bids had been received on the <br />general obligation bonds and three bids on the revenue bonds. <br />Mr. Fetzer opened and read the bids, after which they were <br />tabulated. Underwood/Neuhaus presented the best bid package <br />on both the general obligation and revenue bonds, and Mr. <br />Fetzer recommended this company be chosen. <br />Dick Richards and Rowland Geddie of Baker & Botts reviewed the <br />bond ordinances. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1469 - AN ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF $6,000,000 WATERWORKS AND <br />SEWER SYSTEM REVENUE BONDS, SERIES 1985; PROVIDING THE DETAILS <br />RELATING THERETO; AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE PAYING <br />AGENT/REGISTRAR; AND DECLARING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE <br />EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY UPON ITS ADOPTION. <br />
