". , ~i 'Ii ~.. ::~! e. /1 // ".:"&:.. ~~.- -":... . .-.---.---- -- . --- -~ - - -------- -- RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND GENERAL MEMBERSHIP OF THE LA PORTE NOON OPTIMIST CLUB WHEREAS, the motto of the La Porte Noon Optimist Club is "Friend of Youth "; am WHEREAS, the La Porte Noon Optimist Club exists soley to further the interest of youth in the La Porte and Bay Areas, through the raising and expenditure of funds on behalf of youth and through the sponsor- ship of youth oriented activities; and WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the La Porte Noon Optimist Club that the City of La Porte is considering the advisability of obtaining a golf course in La Porte for the benefit of La Porte Citizens; am WHEREAS, the La Porte Noon Optimist Club feels that it is appropriate for the City of La Porte to continue to provide increased recreational opportunities for all citizens of the City of La Porte, and for the youth of the City of La Porte in particular; and WHEREAS, the La Porte Noon Optimist Club feels that the golf course as proposed for La Porte would be an important addition to the re- creational opportunities and activities that currently exist for the citizens/youth of the City of La Porte; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Directors of the La Porte Noon Optimist Club, meeting in session on November 5, 1985: THAT the La Porte Noon Optimist Club express its unconditional support for the golf course proposed for the citizens of the City of La Porte, to the City Council of the City of La Porte at its meeting on November 11, 1985; am THAT the La Porte Noon Optimist Club urge the City of La Porte to take steps to insure that the golf course, when completed, be made fully available to the youth of the City of La Porte in a meaningful fashion; am THAT the La Porte Noon Optimist Club further express its unconditional support for all future recreational activities sponsored by the City of La Porte, particularly insofar as said activities are made available to the youth of the City of La Porte. Ratified by unanimous vote of the Board of Directors of the La Porte Noon Optimist Club on November 5, 1985.
